Reclassification of some Klaffenbach parcels to the municipality of Burkhardtsdorf
At its meeting today, the Chemnitz City Council decided to reclassify some parcels of land in the Klaffenbach district as part of the municipality of Burkhardtsdorf as of 1 January 2019.
The sports field, for example, is split roughly down the middle by the current city boundary. The sports field is managed by the municipality of Burkhardtsdorf. The municipality also owns the parcels of land on the sports field. It was therefore considered sensible and practicable to adjust the city boundary and reorganise some of the parcels accordingly.
For the city of Chemnitz, this entails the loss of a property with two residents. However, the resulting reduction in annual key allocations is so minor that it is negligible. None of the parcels of land in question are recognised in the balance sheet of the City of Chemnitz, as they are all non-municipal land. Consequently, the boundary change does not result in a loss of assets.
Neither the ASR nor the ESC will suffer any disadvantages from the cancellation of waste and wastewater disposal fees. These are negligible in comparison to the relatively high cost of the long journey to and from the site.
In the interests of the two residents living on the estate, the City of Chemnitz is in favour of the reclassification. For them, as well as for the owners of the other affected parcels of land, there is the advantage of lower charges in the municipality of Burkhardtsdorf. (e.g. property tax). The reclassification itself is generally free of charge.
The affected residents and owners have been informed in writing and have not raised any objections.
In addition to the resolutions of the Chemnitz city council and the Burkhardtsdorf municipal council, the reclassification also requires a resolution by the district council of the Erzgebirgskreis. The reorganisation also requires the approval of the Saxony State Directorate as the legal supervisory authority.
