Reading at the Tschaikowskistraße children's and family centre

On Friday, 16 November at 11 a.m., a reading with the author Ahmet Özdemir will take place at the children's and family centre, Tschaikowskistraße 9, as part of the nationwide Read Aloud Day.
Ahmet Özdemir, author of the children's book "We are all the same", will read to the children at the Tschaikowskistraße day care centre. Ahmet Özdemir is actively involved in daycare centres throughout Germany, among other things, in order to confront and sensitise children to the topic of integration as early as possible.
This campaign is unanimously recognised as a supportive contribution to tolerance in early childhood.

The story:
"Anton and Ali meet in kindergarten and don't want to have anything to do with each other. Anton is light in colour, Ali has dark skin. How are they supposed to play together like that? A fierce argument begins - but then the two meet Rudy."
The book describes the first encounters between children of different nationalities and addresses the omnipresent topic of integration. By dealing with the perception of appearance in childhood, the colourful story sensitises children and parents alike to how they deal with foreignness and differences between nationalities.
