Reading and performance: "I hate people"
Julius Fischer with his programme at the TIETZ on 17 November
On 17 November at 19:30, the slam poet, reading stage author, musician and TV comedian Julius Fischer will be a guest at the TIETZ with his programme "Ich hasse Menschen - Heute Chemnitz".
The Lessing Prize winner will present published and unpublished short stories in reading theatre style - fast, funny, direct. He will be presenting his scandalous book "Die schönsten Wanderwege der Wanderhure. Not a historical novel" in his luggage. He will also be performing ironic pop music.
Julius Fischer, born in Gera in 1984, lives in Leipzig. He has taken part in numerous poetry slams in German-speaking countries and has won many of them. He tours the German-speaking world with Christian Meyer as "The Fuck Hornisschen Orchestra". He can also be seen with Meyer on MDR television in the show "Comedy mit Karsten". Julius Fischer is also one half of the slam duo "Team Totale Zerstörung", a member of the Dresden reading theatre Sax Royal and co-founder of the Leipzig reading theatre Schkeuditzer Kreuz. He has been a permanent member of the Berlin reading stage Lesedüne since 2011. Most recently, the short story collections "Ich will wie meine Katze riechen" and "Die schönsten Wanderwege der Wanderhure" were published by Voland & Quist.
The reading is part of the project "Literaturforum Bibliothek - ausgezeichnete Autoren und Übersetzer aus Sachsen in sächsischen Bibliotheken" organised by the DBV Landesverband Sachsen and the Sächsischer Literaturrat, funded by the Saxon State Ministry of Science and the Arts.
