Rattling fountain remains at the bus station
The Klapperbrunnen fountain will remain at the bus station. Mayor Michael Stötzer informed the cultural committee about this yesterday.
The restoration is being prepared by experts. It is not yet possible to make any statements regarding a time and cost plan.
The fountain at the bus station had to be switched off at the end of July 2018. The bronze fountain had been permanently leaking water for some time. In addition, the system had not been running at full pressure for some time. The old, worn pipes are presumably so leaky and rusty that the water is leaking in large quantities.
The Klapperbrunnen, which was put into operation in 1968, is part of Johannes Belz's sculptural and artistic work and was created during his time as a freelance artist in Chemnitz (or Karl-Marx-Stadt at the time).
