Rattling fountain is switched off

The fountain at the bus station had to be switched off. The bronze fountain has been permanently leaking water for some time. This morning, the basin was completely empty. In addition, the system had not been running at full pressure for some time. The old, worn pipes are probably so leaky and rusty that the water is running away in large quantities.

Repairing the well's defective pipes is currently out of the question for cost reasons.

The fountain is therefore expected to be dismantled in September and stored professionally. There is currently no schedule or cost plan for the renovation and reinstallation.

The Klapperbrunnen, which was commissioned in 1968, is part of Johannes Belz's sculptural and artistic oeuvre and was created during his time as a freelance artist in Chemnitz (or Karl-Marx-Stadt at the time).
