Rabenstein primary school receives new tower button
Invitation to today's Knopffest
The listed school building in Rabenstein is getting its tower knob back. This is the name given to the closed, round metal capsule at the top of the building tower. If such a spire capsule adorns the top of the roof of a town hall or other public building, such as a school, it is also called a roof knob.
Due to their inaccessibility, such knobs also serve as so-called time capsules. Now, after the refurbishment work on the roof truss, the refurbished tower ball, which is already back on the roof, is being supplemented with evidence of the present - such as current floor plans, elevation plans, some notes on the design planning and a current official gazette. This official act is called Knopffest.
The city of Chemnitz invites you to the Knopffest at Rabenstein primary school today at 2 pm.
Note to photographers:
Climbing onto the roof is not possible for safety reasons.
