Pupils from Dublin visit municipal music school

Invitation for media representatives: Joint rehearsal on 1 December, 4 p.m., concert hall of the Municipal Music School

From Sunday 30 November, 25 pupils from Luttrellstown Community College in Dublin, a grammar school with a musical profile, will be visiting Chemnitz Municipal Music School. They will be getting to know the city's music school life until 7 December.

On Monday, 1 December, from 4 to 6 p.m., representatives of the media are invited to a joint rehearsal in the concert hall of the Municipal Music School, Gerichtsstraße 1.

The exchange aims to bring young people together through the universal language of music, to promote intercultural encounters and to strengthen the artistic and personal development of the participants in the long term.

In addition to the musical exchange, the Irish guests can expect a varied cultural programme. This includes a city tour and a visit to the theatre in Chemnitz, ice skating together, a visit to the Chemnitz Christmas market and a trip to Leipzig. These activities not only offer insights into German culture, but also strengthen the interpersonal relationships between the students.

The return visit to Ireland will take place in spring 2026. In April, 18 music students from the vocal and woodwind ensembles at Chemnitz Municipal Music School will be travelling to Dublin with three supervising teachers.
