Pupils become a big band

Final concert on 11 January, 5 p.m. at Chemnitz Opera House

On Friday, 11 January at 5 pm, all Chemnitz residents are cordially invited to the final concert of Annen Primary School and Annen Secondary School at Chemnitz Opera House. Admission is free of charge. The pupils will perform pieces of popular hip-hop, rock and pop music that they have learnt during the week.

Background:
The new year is getting off to an unusual start for the pupils and teachers at Annen Primary School and Annen Secondary School. Because from 7 to 11 January, only one subject will dominate the timetable: Music. Over the coming week, the almost 300 pupils in years 1 to 8 at Annen schools will be working together with their teachers and educators under the direction of the braintreeacademy® on nine pieces of popular hip hop, rock and pop music literature, such as "T.N.T." by ACDC. The participants were able to choose their favourite instruments themselves. A wide variety of instruments are available for this: Trombones, saxophones, basses, guitars, drums, keyboards, tenor horns, flutes and clarinets.

By making music together in the orchestra, the children experience what it is like to receive recognition and respect for good performance, integration and social behaviour. They learn to define themselves through discipline, co-operation and success.

The braintreeacademy® trainers come from various German states such as Lower Saxony, Berlin, Brandenburg, Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria and range in age from 12 to 53.

Media representatives are welcome to accompany the rehearsals.
