Public guided tour on the history of Sachsenburg concentration camp

On Sunday, 11 October, from 3 to 4.30 pm, interested parties are invited to a public guided tour on the history of Sachsenburg concentration camp. The meeting point is at the former snack bar next to the "Fischerschänke" restaurant, An der Zschopau 1, 09669 Sachsenburg.

There was a concentration camp in Sachsenburg from 1933 to 1937. More than 10,000 people were imprisoned there. It paved the way for the system of concentration and extermination camps in Europe.
During the guided tour of the site, participants gain an insight into the origins, history and dissolution of the Sachsenburg concentration camp. They learn about the biographies of prisoners and can visit the former cells and accommodation of the prisoners and guards. Afterwards, there is the opportunity to explore the contents of the tour in greater depth in a small exhibition.
This event is a co-operation between the Initiative Klick and the Chemnitz Adult Education Centre.
