Public discussion round on the market fountain
On Monday, 3 June at 6 pm, the people of Chemnitz are invited to the Kunstsammlungen Chemnitz to discuss the finalists of the market fountain competition with the jury in public. Egmont Elschner will moderate the event. Admission is free.
The nine final models of what the future market fountain could look like have been on display in the art collections since 25 May. These are the designs of the finalists of the open international artistic competition organised by the city. The models can be seen in the exhibition on a scale of 1:20. The jury, made up of art historian Susanne Altmann, Professor of Fine Art and Sculpture Else Gabriel, designer Prof. Karl Clauss Dietel, landscape architect Prof. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. H. H. K. K., and the architect Prof. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. K., was responsible for the design. Karl Clauss Dietel, landscape architect Stefan Leiste, Professor of Surface Design Jörg Steinbach, Rector of the Dresden University of Fine Arts Matthias Flügge and Art Collection Director Frédéric Bußmann, together with six other judges, have nominated the finalists for the market fountain.
