Public auction of found bicycles
Online auction runs until 9 May
The City of Chemnitz is now inviting people to take part in a lost property auction - corona-related online at www.zoll-auktion.de (see also QR code). In the virtual auction house of the federal, state and local governments, authorities such as customs and police, as well as municipalities and educational institutions, offer discarded equipment, vehicles and other items for sale. Since 2017, the city of Chemnitz has also been one of the sellers on this platform.
After numerous bicycles accumulated in the lost property office of the City of Chemnitz, whose storage period has expired and for which no ownership claims have been asserted, some of them are now being auctioned on www.zoll-auktion.de under the heading "Bicycles & Accessories":
These include mountain bikes (20, 24, 26, 27.5 28, 29 inches), city bikes (26, 27, 28 inches), a folding bike in 20 inches, a trail bike in 26 inches, a BMX in 20 inches, two trekking bikes in 26 inches, children's bikes in 18 and 20 inches, a racing bike 28 inches and two fitness bikes 28 inches.
The items on offer can only be viewed online; it is not possible to view the items in person during the entire auction.
Bidders cannot expect new items. The bikes are described in detail and can be seen in informative photos. Defects are explicitly pointed out, in many cases minor or major repairs are necessary.
It should be noted that items can only be purchased at auction if you have previously registered with Zoll-Auktion.
The internet platform also offers the option of placing items on a watch list so that you do not miss out on how high the desired item is being traded and how many interested parties there are for it.
The auctions end on 9 May 2021 between 7 and 8 pm.
As always with lost property auctions, the following applies: Items are auctioned as seen (in photos), no guarantee is given and exchanges are not possible.
Auctioned bicycles can only be collected by appointment. The lost property office of the City of Chemnitz will contact the highest bidder after the end of the auction. The bikes will be handed over at an appropriate distance and the amount will be paid on site in cash or by EC card.
