Pruning work on the Oberrabenstein lime tree natural monument
This week, pruning work is to be carried out on the Oberrabenstein lime tree, a natural monument. During tree inspections, an acute safety problem was discovered in the tree, which was planted around 1700. The approx. 30 metre high tree was damaged by a storm at the beginning of the year. The existing crack in the trunk was presumably deepened further.
Therefore, an immediate massive shortening of the crown should provide relief in order to be able to preserve the tree at all.
