Pruning on Stollberger Straße
Work between Goethering and primary school starts next week
Along Stollberger Straße in the area from Goethering to Valentina Tereschkowa primary school, there is a free-growing privacy hedge that will be cut back in the 4th and 5th calendar week. The measures are urgently needed to preserve and maintain the value of the area and were also requested by residents.
The trees and shrubs located there will be cut back on a large scale, which may give the impression of a clear cut. The so-called rejuvenation pruning will be carried out professionally by the specialist company Techno-Farm und Service GmbH. The hedge will sprout again once the work has been completed.
All of the upcoming work is, without exception, urgent measures that are carried out outside of the breeding and setting season specified in Section 39 BNatSchG. They are therefore legally permissible and do not constitute an offence under the BNatSchG or the SächsNatSchG.
In order to still fulfil the upcoming breeding and setting season, only part of the hedge is currently being trimmed. The remaining part will be cut back at the beginning of 2023. This will leave the native birdlife with sufficient biological refuge habitats for the breeding period.
