Promotion of art and culture

Applications for planned projects 2022 possible until 30 June or 1 September 2021 Applications for spontaneous projects 2021 still possible until 15 November

Funding is still available for spontaneous projects in the current year 2021. Applications can be submitted until 15 November 2021 to the Cultural Management, Cultural Strategy Department in the City of Chemnitz's Cultural Department. It is possible to apply online for small projects with a maximum application amount of 2,000 euros via the amt24.sachsen.de portal. Project applications over 2,000 euros must be sent to the City of Chemnitz's cultural department using the application form.

Applications for one-year institutional funding and project funding for 2022 with an application amount of more than 3,500 euros must be submitted to the City of Chemnitz's cultural department by 30 June 2021. Planned projects in 2022 with an application amount of up to 3,500 euros can be submitted by 1 September 2021 at the latest.

Information on funding projects with investment reinforcement funds in 2022:

The Free State of Saxony is once again providing investment reinforcement funds and additional investment funds for cultural institutions to reduce the renovation and investment backlog in the cultural sector. The prerequisite for funding is that the measure costs at least 5,000 euros. The state will contribute a maximum of 50 per cent of the total expenditure. The City of Chemnitz provides a municipal share for independent cultural organisations.

Cultural institutions in need of investment can submit their application informally to the City of Chemnitz's cultural department by 30 June 2021. Further advice on possible applications will then be provided there.

The Cultural Advisory Board of the City of Chemnitz discusses the allocation of funding. The Cultural Committee makes the final decision on the allocation of funding based on the funds available.
