Project for self-determined political participation for people with a history of migration
Participants as guests in the town hall
Tomorrow, Tuesday 11 September, at 4 pm, participants from the Comparti project will be guests at the town hall. The participants are young women with or without a migration background who meet in the girls' group "GirlsWorldwide" of the children's and youth centre "InspireKids" of the Bethanien Foundation. The Comparti project of AGIUA e.V. regularly visits the girls' group and meets with them in the town hall on this day. The City of Chemnitz's Equal Opportunities Officer, Pia Hamann, and the EU Coordinator, Pia Sachs, will welcome the young women. During a tour of the town hall, they will first learn about the history of the city. This will be followed by a discussion in the town hall's Green Parlour.
The Comparti project aims to empower people with a history of migration to participate in politics. This is achieved through various educational programmes, by strengthening their own representation of interests or by supporting the founding of associations. These programmes take place around two to five times a month. Memberships in political bodies or organisations have also been realised to date or are currently being sought. The project is funded by the Federal Ministry of the Interior, Building and Community.
