Primary school pupils to lessons by bus
The Ludwig Richter primary school and the Altendorf primary school are due for refurbishment - pupils are therefore learning in the school building at Philippstraße 20 and in the Emanuel Gottlieb Flemming primary school
At the start of the 2013/14 school year, all pupils at Ludwig Richter Primary School (Ludwig-Richter-Straße 19) will be taught at Philippstraße 20 and all pupils at Altendorf Primary School (Ernst-Heilmann-Straße 11) at Emanuel-Gottlieb-Flemming Primary School (Albert-Schweitzer-Straße 61) due to the complete refurbishment of two Chemnitz school buildings. The refurbishment work at both primary schools is expected to be completed by the end of the 2014/15 school year.
For the daily transport of pupils, the City of Chemnitz School Administration Office will be using contractually bound buses from the start of lessons on Monday, 26 August 2013. These buses will be used to transport pupils to and from school in the morning and afternoon. Pupils will be transported directly from their previous school location to the school being relocated, so that there is no additional journey for the pupils. Extra school bus stops have been set up directly in front of the school buildings. One school bus is used for pupils at Altendorf GS and two school buses for pupils at Ludwig-Richter-GS.
In order to avoid obstructions to the flow of traffic during these school bus journeys, stopping restrictions will be introduced in the areas of Ludwig-Richter-Straße/ Helmholtzstraße (Hilbersdorf district) and Albert-Schweitzer-Straße (Altendorf district) at selected narrow points to ensure that the school bus can negotiate the bends. Residents are asked to understand and observe these necessary restrictions; parking facilities for private vehicles on site will be maintained.
