The Robert Schumann Philharmonic Orchestra invites you to its 9th symphony concert. The programme this time includes "The Isle of the Dead" by Sergei Rachmaninov, Joseph Haydn's Sinfonia concertante in B flat major Hob. I: 105 and Antonín Dvořák's Symphony No. 9 in E minor op. 95 "From the New World". Felix Bender will conduct.

The Erzgebirgsrundfahrt, the toughest one-day race in Germany, starts for the 38th time. The cycling classic over a 170-kilometre circuit through the Ore Mountains will once again be held as a national league race this year. For the first time, the peloton with riders from all over Germany will roll through the Hennersdorf wooden bridge.
Time and place: Start: 9.30 a.m., arrival: 2 p.m., Einsiedler Brauhaus
Mayor Barbara Ludwig will be in Chemnitz's twin city Akron from 7 to 11 May.
