Friday, 4 October

After the opening festival, the Chemnitz theatre ensemble starts the new 2013/14 season with seven premieres: the first is the premiere of Georg Büchner's comedy "Leonce and Lena" in a production by Robert Czechowski. The performance commemorates the 200th anniversary of the poet's birth this year.

Time and place: 8 pm, Schauspielhaus, East Wing.

Saturday, 5 October

Premiere of Henrik Ibsen's "Hedda Gabler" in a production by theatre director Carsten Knödler and with Florence Matousek in the title role.

Time and place: 19:30, Schauspielhaus, large stage.

Sunday, 6 October

The puppet theatre premieres "Little Red Riding Hood" by Manfred Blank, based on the fairy tale by the Brothers Grimm. The puppet theatre director is also responsible for the production, Manfred Schmidt for the set. Alexandra Blank can be seen on stage. Information: www.theater-chemnitz.de

Time and place: 3 pm, theatre, foyer.

Premiere of the Johnny Cash homage "Ring Of Fire" with Philipp von Schön-Angerer in the role of the music legend who died ten years ago. Musician and composer Steffan Claußner is the musical director of the performance and is also responsible for the concept and idea together with René Schmidt (stage, costumes and dramaturgy) and Philipp von Schön-Angerer.

Time and place: 19:30, Schauspielhaus, large stage.
