Wednesday, 1 October

Mayor Barbara Ludwig welcomes the newly naturalised citizens of Chemnitz to the city's traditional naturalisation ceremony. The programme also includes a tour of the town hall and the High Tower with tower keeper Stefan Weber.

Thursday, 2 October

Invitation to the annual forest inspection: The forest maintenance work planned for autumn/winter 2014/15 in the municipal forest of the City of Chemnitz will be presented using the example of the Glösa Forest (PM 532 from 22/09/2014).

Time and place: 2 p.m., meeting point at the Lichtenauer Weg/Rennsteig junction.

Friday, 3 October

Chemnitz will host the 11th Women's Political Council. The event is taking place for the first time in the new federal states and is supported by the Mayor of Chemnitz, the Equal Opportunities Officers of the City of Chemnitz and Chemnitz University of Technology and the Chemnitz Network of Women's Initiatives.

The event will be held at Chemnitz University of Technology from 3 to 5 October 2014.

The 8th edition of the "Kammermachen" festival for theatre, dance, music and sound art, organised by Weltecho, will take place from 3 to 11 October.

To mark the 25th anniversary of the Peaceful Revolution, the International Stefan Heym Society has organised a reading of texts by Stefan Heym in cooperation with Schauspiel Chemnitz (PM 533 from 23/09/2014). The reading with Hartwig Albiro, Ulrike Uhlig and Elvira Grecki, among others, is entitled "Stefan Heym - Einer der nie schwieg".

Saturday, 4 October

Artists, friends and companions congratulate the Stadthalle Chemnitz on its 40th birthday with a big anniversary show.

The Joseph Beys exhibition with 140 drawings by the famous conceptual artist, which runs until 5 October, comes to an end at the Kunstsammlungen Chemnitz.
