The twelfth edition of the festival for urban art and culture "Industriebrachenumgestaltung" - IBUg for short - will take place in Chemnitz until 3 September. Since mid-August, the halls of the former VEB Spezialmaschinenfabrik on Lerchenstraße have been transformed into a colourful work of art by over 100 artists from all over the world. After the first festival weekend, the second weekend from 1 to 3 September will once again feature a varied festival programme with an art market, artist talks, films, a music programme and a beer garden.

The 26th Chemnitz Cycling Days will include the race around Chemnitz Town Hall for the children with the "fat tyres" - boys and girls in the U13 class will compete in a criterium. Finally, the elite men and juniors will race a circuit race with intermediate classifications and, last but not least, the exciting men's and women's derny relay with a very prominent line-up.

At the 26th Chemnitz Cycling Days, the first international stand-up races after the track renovation will start in two rounds - a derny race and a race for juniors/under 19s. The highlight will be the "old champions behind historic machines".

The popular picnic concert will take place around the Schloßberg Museum for the 8th time. The musicians of the Robert Schumann Philharmonic Orchestra will once again be performing musical delicacies ranging from classical music to swing and jazz.
