Monday, 22 April
Brunhild Kurth, Saxony's Minister of Education and Cultural Affairs, hands Chemnitz Mayor Barbara Ludwig the funding notification from the Free State of Saxony for the refurbishment of Ludwig Richter Primary School.

Premiere for a new running sports event in Chemnitz: the first relay race in the city since 1990 has the motto "Flotter Dreier" and runs through the city centre - the start and finish of the three 2.5-kilometre course is the Brühl.

Saturday, 27 April
The 8th Saxon Cancer Congress is being organised under the patronage of the Mayor of Chemnitz, with Mayor Philipp Rochold taking part in the opening ceremony.

Mayor Barbara Ludwig takes part in the official tour of the two-day trade fair "azubi- & studientage Chemnitz - Die Messe für Ausbildung und Studium". The event, which is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on 27 and 28 April 2013, is Germany's largest trade fair for training and studies.

Sunday, 28 April
Festive service to celebrate the 125th anniversary of the founding of the Church Choir Organisation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Saxony. The sermon will be preached by Bishop Jochen Bohl and the liturgy will be led by the Superintendent of Chemnitz, Andreas Conzendorf.
Time and place: 10 a.m., Chemnitz Castle Church.

Premiere of "Crocus ... Cherries ... cold ears", a play about the seasons by Eva Noell, for very young theatre lovers aged three to five.
Time and place: 10 am, puppet theatre in the Schauspielhaus.
