Mayor Barbara Ludwig opens the 23rd Chemnitz City Festival together with Sören Uhle, Managing Director of CWE. Until 27 August, over 250,000 guests from Chemnitz and the region are once again expected to feast, celebrate and explore. Five stages, lots of hands-on activities in eight themed areas and almost 200 traders and catering stands will provide the best possible entertainment over three days.

The twelfth edition of the renowned festival for urban art and culture "Industriebrachenumgestaltung" - ibug for short - will take place in Chemnitz from today until 27 August and from 1 to 3 September. Since mid-August, the halls of the former VEB Spezialmaschinenfabrik on Lerchenstraße have been transformed into a colourful work of art by over 100 artists from all over the world. Starting today, there will be a varied festival programme.
