Mayor Barbara Ludwig gives the starting signal for the 9th Chemnitz company run. According to the organisers, over 5,000 individual runners from around 450 companies from the city and region have reserved their starting places, and the Lauf-KulTour 2014 team will also be starting at the company run in Brückenstraße.

The Oldtimer Verein Chemnitz e. V. is organising the 5th Historic Rallye Erzgebirge under the motto "Through the Ore Mountains in a classic car". The theme of the two-day event on 5 and 6 September is sport and forgotten race tracks. Mayor Barbara Ludwig wishes the organisers and participants a successful rally with a word of greeting. The City of Chemnitz's waste disposal and city cleaning company (ASR) and the Chemnitz Waste Management Association (AWVC) are organising a joint open day. Visitors to the companies can use a free shuttle service between ASR and AWVC. Information: www.asr-chemnitz.de and www.awvc.de

The traditional reservoir run in Oberrabenstein is taking place for the 37th time. There are a total of six competitions on the programme: 2 km run for everyone, 25 km run, 5 km run, 10 km run and 5 km walking/nordic walking as well as the Bambini run, which starts at 10:20 am.
