On the resignation of Simone Kalew and Dirk Balster from the supervisory board of Chemnitzer FC, Lord Mayor Barbara Ludwig said:
"I would like to thank both managing directors for their willingness to help the CFC in a difficult situation. In addition to the considerable financial resources provided by the city, this also gave them the opportunity to establish the necessary economic expertise within the club. Since November, the club's management has had a well-founded expert opinion at its disposal on the basis of the city council's decision as a further instrument for a consolidation course that can stabilise the club in the long term. However, the association's management is not prepared to accept this business management support in addition to financial assistance. Instead, the support offered was and is perceived as interference in the organisation. The departure of Mrs Kalew and Mr Balster is therefore logical."
