Representatives of the media are invited to attend the award ceremony of the International Stefan Heym Prize of the City of Chemnitz as well as two accompanying events.

Reception for the prizewinner Yuri Andrukhovych - Friday, 17 April, 5.30 pm
Mayor Dagmar Ruscheinsky receives Yuri Andrukhovych, winner of the International Stefan Heym Prize of the City of Chemnitz, in the Green Salon, City Hall, Markt 1.
Award ceremony - Saturday, 18 April, 6 p.m.
Mayor Sven Schulze will present the International Stefan Heym Prize of the City of Chemnitz to Yuri Andrukhovych, the Ukrainian writer, essayist and translator, who will receive the literary prize worth 20,000 euros. With this award, the city of Chemnitz is honouring one of Ukraine's most important literary voices.
The award ceremony will take place at the event location dieFabrik Chemnitz, Zwickauer Straße 145.
The laudatory speech will be given by Katharina Raabe, editor for Eastern European literature at Suhrkamp Verlag. The event will be accompanied by music from Ukrainian musician, poet and composer Taras Tschubaj.
Yuri Andrukhovych will also sign the Golden Book of the City of Chemnitz during the award ceremony.
After the ceremony, at around 7.35 pm, there will be an opportunity for interviews with Yuri Andrukhovych and Lord Mayor Sven Schulze.
Prizewinner reading and discussion - Sunday, 19 April, 3 p.m.
Yuri Andrukhovych will read from some of his works. The reading will be moderated by Prof Bernadette Malinowski, Professor of Modern German and Comparative Literature at Chemnitz University of Technology. The event is open to the public and is being organised in cooperation with the European Capital of Culture Chemnitz 2025 gGmbH at the Hartmannfabrik, Fabrikstraße 11.
