Press festival: Traffic authorities ask visitors to take note of necessary traffic restrictions near the festival meadow
Restrictions apply from Friday, 28 June, 12 noon until Monday, 1 July, 9 a.m. - CVAG offers special line from the central stop to Winklerstraße and back
The traffic restrictions will apply from Friday, 28 June, 12 noon until Monday, 1 July, 9 a.m. in the immediate vicinity of the Festwiese (overview map):
Küchwaldring, Küchwaldstraße, Ludwigstraße and Kesselgarten will be designated as one-way streets - these streets will also be closed to through traffic and free for residents as well as taxi and delivery traffic.Winklerstrasse, Dorotheenstrasse, Altendorferstrasse and Glauchauer Strasse will also be closed to private traffic; the roads will remain open to residents and taxi and delivery traffic.
This temporary change in traffic routing is necessary to ensure the access and exit of emergency services (police, rescue services and fire brigade) as well as showmen, traders and residents.
Visitors to the press festival travelling by car are asked to bear in mind that there are no parking facilities in the immediate vicinity. Therefore, please use city centre car parks in conjunction with public transport services: For the press festival, CVAG will be running a special line from the central stop (platform 5b) to Winklerstraße and back. Please refer to the publications of Chemnitzer Verkehrsbetriebe (CVAG) at www.cvag.de for the arrival and departure times of the special Press Festival route.
Parking facilities: at the Chemnitz Ice Sports Centre (650 spaces), at the Ermafa Passage (250 spaces) and Leipziger Straße/ Küchwaldring near Gottfried-Keller-Straße (60 spaces).
