On Wednesday 8 January at 2 pm, representatives of the media are invited to the press room on the ground floor of Chemnitz Town Hall, Markt 1.
Mayor Knut Kunze, Jens Maiwald, CEO of Chemnitzer Verkehrs-AG (CVAG), the official head of the transport and civil engineering office, Alexander Kirste, as well as the head of the transport and civil engineering department. Alexander Kirste, Head of the Traffic and Civil Engineering Office, and representatives of the police department will provide information on the traffic concept and on issues relating to safety and demonstrations during the opening weekend of the European Capital of Culture Chemnitz 2025.
Due to the many events on the opening weekend, several streets in the city centre will be closed around 18 January and no-stopping zones will also be designated. In addition, various demonstrations have been registered for 18 January, which will take place outside the event areas.
