Presentation of the International Stefan Heym Awards

The International Stefan Heym Sponsorship Awards will be presented on Friday, 9 February at 6 pm in the City Council Chamber of the Town Hall. Lord Mayor Sven Schulze will present the awards to five prizewinners for four projects.
Representatives of the media are also invited to attend.
Background:
Since 2017, the International Stefan Heym Prizes have been awarded in addition to the International Stefan Heym Prize of the City of Chemnitz. They have a total value of 20,000 euros. The sponsorship prizes are awarded to projects and initiatives in the areas of research and estate management, for scholarships and to support student projects that deal with the life and work of Stefan Heym in a special way.
A board of trustees consisting of representatives from the International Stefan Heym Society, the Goethe Institute, Chemnitz University of Technology, the PEN Centre Germany and the City of Chemnitz, among others, will decide on the projects submitted.
