Presentation of student work on intervention areas
On Wednesday, 7 July, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., students from the TU Dresden, Faculty of Architecture, Chair of Urban Design, will present their work online on intervention areas of the European Capital of Culture 2025, which they have worked on individually or in small groups in a project under the direction of Prof. Angela Mensing-de Jong.
The online presentation will also be attended by Mayor Michael Stötzer, heads and employees of the Department of Urban Development and Construction and the Mobility Campus project coordinator, Stefan Tschök.

Designs of selected intervention areas in the city will be presented:
- the Chemnitz Valley cycle path in the districts of Furth, Borna-Heinersdorf and Glösa-Draisdorf
- City by the river (area on Hauboldstraße)
- Schillerplatz and the square in front of the university library
- Tram depot / garage campus
- Karl Schmidt-Rottluff ensemble
The student designs are suggestions and ideas that the City of Chemnitz is happy to take on board in order to discuss them further with the city's stakeholders and incorporate them into further work.
The students visited the city of Chemnitz back in May of this year with the aim of looking at the intervention areas that are to be developed as part of the European Capital of Culture 2025 and drawing up suggestions, ideas and planning sketches. Accompanied by staff from the Department of Urban Development and Construction, the students visited the various locations in smaller groups and spoke to the stakeholders involved.
