Presentation of Chemnitz athletes for the Rio de Janeiro Olympic team
Invitation for media representatives on 4 November, 4 p.m.
The countdown for the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro has begun. It is now time for Chemnitz athletes to position themselves for a call-up to the German Olympic team. In Chemnitz, this concerns the sports of weightlifting, artistic gymnastics, athletics, cycling and boxing.
On Wednesday, 4 November 2015, Mayor Barbara Ludwig invites the best athletes from Chemnitz to the event centre of Sparkasse Chemnitz, Bahnhofstraße 51, at 4 pm. They will have the opportunity to introduce themselves and their respective sports, present their respective qualification methods and their sporting goals.
The President of the City Sports Association, Heiko Schinkitz, and a representative of the Chemnitz/Dresden Olympic Training Centre will also provide information on Olympic qualification.
Following the presentation, various topics will be discussed in an informal round of talks.
