Invitation for media representatives: 20 October, 11 a.m., Stadtwirtschaft, Jakobstraße 46
On Thursday, 20 October at 11 a.m., representatives of the media are invited to a press event in the "Stadtwirtschaft", an intervention area of the European Capital of Culture Chemnitz 2025. Building Mayor Michael Stötzer and project manager Grit Stillger from the City of Chemnitz's urban planning office as well as Frank Müller and Paul Marcion from implementation partner Kreatives Chemnitz e. V. will present the project, upcoming structural changes and the site.
The former depot of the old Stadtwirtschaft at Jakobstraße 46 is one of a total of eight intervention areas for the European Capital of Culture Chemnitz 2025. It will be revitalised as a place of encounter and creative exchange between culture, art, education and production as a makerspace full of synergetic effects for start-ups, citizens and creative people.
Extensive workshop processes are planned for further development together with neighbourhoods and interest groups. The future "Stadtwirtschaft" consists of three courtyards with almost 6,000 square metres that connect five buildings.
