Preparatory tree felling at the "Pusteblume" children's centre
New play equipment is to be installed this year at the municipal daycare centre "Pusteblume", Henriettenstraße 21. (You will receive a separate press release about this).
In preparation for this measure, five hybrid poplars (a cross between two types of poplar) will be felled by 28 February. Due to their age and size, these hybrid poplars are no longer safe for this location.
Hybrid poplars are prone to so-called "green branch breakage", i.e. in sunny and hot weather (i.e. nothot weather (i.e. not during storms), the tree may shed individual branches. This characteristic makes poplars above playgrounds dangerous, as the branches can break off unexpectedly, for example while children are playing outside.
As part of the construction work for the playground equipment, new trees will also be planted on the grounds of the children's centre.
The felling will be carried out by the company Bach GbR and will cost approx. 6,900 euros.
