Pre-Christmas concerts in December: The traditional Christmas concert of the Municipal Music School

The Chemnitz Municipal Music School presents its traditional Christmas concert onThursday, 6 December at 5 pm (admission from 4 pm). The concert will once again be held in the small hall of the Chemnitz City Hall - the institution is once again supporting the concert this year. Pupils from the municipal music school, from young musicians to members of the youth symphony orchestra, will present a varied programme. Various ensembles with almost all the instruments taught at the music school as well as singing and dancing performances are looking forward to their special appearance at the Christmas concert.

Music school director Nancy Gibson: "We cordially invite the people of Chemnitz and their guests to attend our traditional Christmas concert! You will hear a wonderful and atmospheric concert programme with a wide range of music from classical to popular. And our hard-working and very creative music students will cover a musical spectrum from contemplative and Christmassy melodies to pre-Christmas festive music and a swinging string band."

Together: Chemnitz "Tuesday Singers" and Dresden "Chorallen"

On Saturday, 15 December at 5 p.m. (admission from 4 p.m.), the Chemnitz "Tuesday Singers" and the Dresden "Chorallen" will perform a pre-Christmas concert at St. Matthäuskirche Chemnitz (Zinzendorfstraße 14): The a capella choir with a total of 70 singers is led by the singer and music teacher Anja Schumann, who also teaches at the Chemnitz Municipal Music School and successfully initiated and developed the "Tuesday Singers" choir here. The concert programme on 15 November includes jazz, pop, gospel and world music. The programme will mainly feature Christmas songs from all over the world, most of which have been arranged by choirmaster Anja Schumann herself. Tickets costing 10 euros each can be pre-ordered by calling 0371/302857 or purchased at the box office.

Following the successful joint concert performances by both choirs for the tenth anniversary of the Chemnitz "Tuesday Singers", the singers from Chemnitz and Dresden are now coming together again for two pre-Christmas concerts: after the performance in Chemnitz on 15 November, the following day, 16 November, in Dresden in the Dreikönigskirche.
