Power to Change - The energy rebellion
The new film by Carl-A. Fechner will be shown at Weltecho
The Environmental Centre and the office of Volkmar Zschocke (MdL) invite you to the film "Power to Change - Die Energierebellion" by director Carl-A. Fechner on Wednesday, 22 June 2016, 7 pm at Weltecho, Annaberger Straße 24.
"Power to Change - Die Energierebellion" brings the century of energy transition to life on film. The film depicts the struggle for a bottom-up energy transition - decentralised and regional. It picks up on the personal stories of people who are taking the preservation of their natural livelihood into their own hands and weaves people and locations into an authentic contemporary document.
The film is intended to encourage viewers to fight together for a sustainable and just world. The film will be shown during the "Week of Sun and Pellets". The event is supported by eins energie.
Background:
The "Week of Sun and Pellets" from 17 to 26 June 2016 is Germany's largest campaign for the use of renewable energies. It is taking place for the tenth time this year. Since 2007, more than three million people have learnt about climate protection technologies during the annual campaign week. At the tenth edition, consumer initiatives, local authorities, trade businesses, associations and schools will once again provide information about solar power, storage systems, solar heating and wood pellets at several hundred events expected to take place throughout Germany.
"The 'Week of Sun and Pellets' shows citizens and companies how they can take their energy supply into their own hands. This benefits the environment and their own wallets in equal measure," says Carsten Körnig, Managing Director of the German Solar Industry Association. "The past few years have shown how creatively associations, schools, initiatives and companies are implementing the campaign locally and how high the interest of the population in renewable energies is."
