Postal voting office in the town hall open from Monday (5 May)

The postal voting office for the European and local elections on 25 May 2014 will be open in Chemnitz from Monday, 5 May 2014 in the town hall, Markt 1. Polling cards and postal voting documents can be applied for in person here and used for instant voting, i.e. votes can also be cast immediately at the postal voting centre on site.
The postal voting office will be open from Monday, 5 May to Friday, 23 May at the following times
Mondays, Wednesdays: 08:30 to 16:00
Tuesdays, Thursdays: 08:30 to 18:00
Fridays: 08:30 to 12:00
on Friday, 23 May 2014: 08:30 to 18:00.
In addition to applying for the documents in person and voting immediately at the town hall, it is also possible to apply for postal voting documents in writing using the application form on the back of the polling card or electronically at www.chemnitz.de/wahlen using the online application form provided there.
With the polling card, it is possible to vote by post in the run-up to the elections.
In addition, the polling card for the European elections can be used to vote at any polling station in the city of Chemnitz. If the polling card is only issued for the city council election, it is valid in all polling stations in the constituency printed on it. If the polling card is valid for the city council and a local council election, it can be used to vote in any polling station in the respective locality.
If your own polling station is not barrier-free, you can also use a barrier-free polling station on election day that is located in the respective area of validity of the polling card by applying for a polling card in advance.
In the polling station search section on www.chemnitz.de/wahlen, voters can enter their address to see the exact location of their polling station and also receive information on whether this polling station is accessible.
