Pop-up exhibition on the Capital of Culture
The current status of the application and the results of the discussion about the intervention areas at a glance
With just under seven months to go until the submission of the application book in the competition for the title of "European Capital of Culture 2025", it is a good time to provide an overview of the process and the results of the public participation.
A pop-up exhibition entitled "On the way to the Capital of Culture" will therefore open on Friday, 8 March at 3 pm in the shop on the corner of Innere Klosterstraße and Börnichsgasse.
It will be open from Tuesday to Friday from 3pm to 6pm and on Saturdays from 10am to 1pm.
In addition to presenting the first stages on the way to becoming the Capital of Culture with important milestones such as the founding of the Chemnitz Cultural Region, the decision on the 2030 Cultural Strategy, micro-project funding and the founding of Klub 2025, the exhibition is also dedicated to the plans for the coming years.
Presented in a workshop in October and discussed with citizens, the thinking about possible intervention areas continued for several weeks afterwards. Many opinions and suggestions were collected, which have now been brought together in the exhibition. The same applies to the initial decisions as to which topics from this process will be focussed on on the way to becoming the Capital of Culture, for example in the application book.
The exhibition can be seen until 29 March.
