Police regulations of the city of Chemnitz amended
Including amendment of the green space statutes
At its meeting today, the city council decided to update the city's police ordinance for the maintenance of public safety and order in Chemnitz. With 16 paragraphs, the current police ordinance has two fewer than the previous ordinance.
The amendment includes paragraph 3, which deals with "Disruptive behaviour in public". Among other things, any soiling of public roads, green and recreational areas and other publicly accessible areas is once again expressly prohibited. It is also forbidden to beg aggressively on public streets and in public green and recreational areas. This paragraph has been completely rewritten.
Among other things, paragraph 4, section 6 of the old version has been deleted: "The keeping of predatory animals, poisonous or giant snakes and other animals which, like these, can endanger people through their physical strength, poison or behaviour, must be reported to the City of Chemnitz immediately". Offences against the keeping of these animals are punishable under Section 121 of the Administrative Offences Act in conjunction with Section 3 of the Saxon Police Act. Paragraph 7 "Behaviour on playgrounds and football pitches" has also been deleted without replacement. This was included in the green space bylaws.
In connection with football matches in the stadium on Gellertstraße, the ban on alcohol in the vicinity of the stadium was lifted.
The State Directorate of Saxony pointed out that Paragraph 4 Para. 5 of the City of Chemnitz police regulations for maintaining security and order in connection with football matches violates Section 9a of the Saxon Police Act and must be cancelled.
Along with the updated police ordinance, the City Council decides to amend the green space statutes. Among other things, paragraph 3a "Behaviour on playgrounds and football pitches" was included, which was previously anchored in the police regulations. In addition, the list of green spaces is updated.
