At its meeting yesterday, Chemnitz City Council approved the sale of the plot at Flemmingstraße 97 to Chemnitzer Siedlungsgemeinschaft eG.
The plot, which covers around 4,000 square metres in the Altendorf district, is being sold for 695,000 euros.
The site is home to a derelict former nursery school in need of renovation. The building, which dates from 1968, served as the City of Chemnitz’s emergency service for children and young people until early 2024.
Chemnitzer Siedlungsgemeinschaft eG plans to demolish the existing buildings and create a new residential development. The plan is to build a residential block running alongside the road.
The plot was advertised for sale on the city of Chemnitz’s website and in its official gazette from November 2025 to January 2026.
