Playground on Robert-Siewert-Straße is opened
Facility can be used again from Wednesday
From Wednesday, 6 December, around 10 a.m., the playground at Robert-Siewert-Straße 48 will be available for use again following its redesign. The facility had to be almost completely renewed due to its age and the associated wear and tear.
After extensive user participation, a spacious and varied play landscape has been created for children and young people aged 3 to 16, which offers plenty of space for free play and experiencing nature in addition to new play equipment areas. The existing development was largely retained and supplemented by a new water-bound path.
In addition to the central play area with two slides following the embankment, a play tower with climbing net, dew bridge and slide bar, as well as a double bar, the popular ropeway and tyre swing were also rebuilt. A climbing rock and table tennis table were added to the facilities for older children and teenagers.
The project was realised by iproplan Planungsgesellschaft mbH from Chemnitz. Liebscher & Partner GmbH began the landscaping work in April 2023. They were supported in the summer by ChildsPlay GmbH, which laid the carpet fleece as embankment protection in the slope area of the slides. After the construction work was completed in September 2023, the new lawn and wooded areas had time to grow. The Chemnitz-Süd Citizens' Platform had campaigned intensively for the renovation of the playground and supported the planning process.
The construction costs totalled around 206,000 euros.
