Playground at the large pond in the city park is being renovated
Construction work begins on 5 September
On Monday, 5 September, construction work will begin on the playground by the large pond in the city park. The facility, which is getting on in years, will be completely renovated.
A play equipment competition was held for the redesign and the winning design will now be realised.
A natural wooden structure will be built, which will be modelled on the existing facility and at the same time blend into the landscape. Diverse and inclusive play options such as slides, climbing, swings and exploration will be integrated. The basic shape of the playground will not change.
The work is expected to last until the end of November. The total costs amount to around 185,000 euros, with around 100,000 euros being spent on the play equipment alone.
The landscaping work is being carried out by Grünland GmbH (Hermsdorf), while Attash (Berlin) is responsible for the playground equipment.
