Playground "Am Hochfeld" in Markersdorf

Refurbishment completed - released for use

The "Am Hochfeld" playground in the Markersdorf district has been renovated as part of the maintenance of the municipal playgrounds and can be used again as of this week.

The existing high seesaw and sandpit have been dismantled and the play area has been redesigned. This now consists of a bird's nest swing, a slide, a newly constructed sandpit and an arched seesaw.

Boulders and balancing logs were placed around the playground.
Ten shrubs and three trees were also planted in the area.

Construction began at the end of January 2020 and final acceptance took place on 12 May. The total costs for the construction work, which took around three and a half months, amounted to approx. 54,000 euros.

The new play area was planned by the City of Chemnitz's Parks Department, which also supervised the construction work. The work was carried out by Tiefbau Böhm GmbH & Co KG.
