Play area at Klaffenbach primary school to be rebuilt

Initial preparatory work begins next Monday

On Monday, 20 January, the first work will begin on the construction of the new play area at Klaffenbach primary school. By 28 February at the latest, various trees will be felled and bushes pruned that cannot remain there permanently, particularly in terms of traffic safety.

The plan is to extend the play and recreational facilities for the children at the primary school in the area of the existing public green space. To this end, various pieces of play equipment will be installed and the paths renewed. New plantings of trees and shrubs as well as perennials (ground cover) are also planned.

The park is divided into three themed areas: The creativity and communication area includes a double swing and a sand play area. A larger climbing combination is planned for the exercise area, which will also be extended to include a table tennis table. Balancing facilities will be created in the nature play area.

Completion is planned by 30 May 2025, with a handover ceremony taking place in the run-up to Children's Day.

The total costs amount to around 160,000 euros. Grünbau Bad Schlema GmbH has been commissioned with the construction work. The planning was provided by iproplan Planungsgesellschaft mbH from Chemnitz.
