Photo opportunity: Chemnitz Municipal Music School receives donation from Singakademie
The members of the Singakademie Chemnitz are supporting the Chemnitz Municipal Music School with the purchase of a new grand piano and have raised a considerable sum of money for this purpose. Representatives of the media are hereby invited to the symbolic handover of the cheque by Andrea Otte, President of the Singakademie Chemnitz, to Nancy Gibson, Director of the Chemnitz Municipal Music School, for a photo opportunity on Tuesday 8 October at 16:30 at the music school, Gerichtsstraße 1.
For the choir members, the support is a matter of course, as there has been excellent co-operation with the Municipal Music School for many years: the institution provides rehearsal rooms for the singers and supports them with voice training and repetition. The Singakademie itself, in turn, constantly needs trained young singers, who are trained at the Chemnitz Municipal Music School, among others.
This enables the choir to live up to its artistic quality standards in the long term - music-loving audiences will soon be able to see this for themselves again in a concert with a performance of Williams' "A Sea Symphony", which will take place on Thursday, 31 October at St Mark's Church in Chemnitz.
