The photo exhibition "Sustainability Stories", presented by the United Nations University Institute for Integrated Management of Material Flows and Resources (UNU-FLORES) in cooperation with the City of Chemnitz and the Carlowitz-Gesellschaft e. V., is on display at the Stadtwirtschaft until 30 November.
The tour is free of charge and can be visited during the regular opening hours of the Stadtwirtschaft: Mondays from 5 to 8 pm, Tuesdays from 4 to 6 pm and Wednesdays from 2 to 6 pm. Special opening hours also apply on the following days: Thursday, 13 November, from 5 to 9 pm, Saturday, 15 November, from 10 am to 6 pm, Wednesday, 19 November, from 2 to 10 pm, Thursday, 27 November, from 4 to 6 pm and Sunday, 30 November, from 9 am to 2 pm.
The exhibition invites visitors on a visual journey around the world to explore how people and communities are responding creatively and courageously to the challenges of climate change, urbanisation and resource scarcity. It takes place as an accompanying event of the European Capital of Culture Chemnitz 2025 and is the last stop of the Sustainability Stories Tour through Saxony after Dresden and Hoyerswerda.
Finissage
The exhibition will end with a finissage on Sunday 30 November at 11 am, bringing together local stakeholders, educators and cultural practitioners to reflect on how storytelling and visual arts can promote learning for sustainability in communities. Background
"Sustainability Stories 2.0 - A world tour through stories of sustainability" is an educational photo exhibition by UNU-FLORES that brings global sustainability challenges closer through stories and photographs. The project promotes education for sustainable development by engaging schools, universities and local communities in a dialogue about the interconnectedness of people and planet.
