Photo exhibition "A reunion with Łódź
Opening on 18 January, 5 pm, exhibition room, town hall, Markt 1
The exhibition "A reunion with Łódź" will open on Wednesday, 18 January at 5 pm in the exhibition room of the town hall, Markt 1. Interested parties are cordially invited.
The exhibition shows photos by Chemnitz city guide Edeltraud Höfer, whose motifs tell of the Łódź of today.
Edeltraud Höfer has had a special relationship with the Polish industrial city of Łódź since her childhood. She has seen the city of Łódź change over several decades: from the boom of the local textile industry to today's modern Łódź, which shines in a completely new light and knows how to combine the old with the new.
The town twinning between Chemnitz and Łódź, which began in 1974, was also established at the time due to the similarities between the two cities, which still exist today due to their industrial character and the resulting numerous upheavals of the time.
The exhibition will be on display in the exhibition room on the ground floor of the town hall until 3 March. It is open Monday to Thursday from 8 am to 6 pm and Friday from 8 am to 4 pm.
