"Pfiffikus" turns 60 - Hilbersdorfer Straße 21 daycare centre celebrates its birthday
To mark the anniversary, children, parents and the daycare team meet with many guests on Tuesday (7 October) and invite them to the open day on Thursday (9 October)
The "Pfiffikus" municipal daycare centre at Hilbersdorfer Straße 21 will be 60 years old in a few days: 83 children are currently being looked after here, 27 in the crèche and 56 in the kindergarten. The daycare centre, which is now one of the city's modern educational facilities and also offers very good framework and care conditions thanks to the renovation measures carried out in 2005/2006 and 2008/2009, was opened on 7 October 1954 as a company crèche and company kindergarten of the RAW of the Deutsche Reichsbahn.
Children, their parents and the nursery team will celebrate the milestone birthday together with invited guests on Tuesday (7 October) from 2:30 pm with a colourful and packed programme, songs and greetings, a raffle and buffet, games and a bouncy castle as well as insights into the history of the nursery. At around 6 p.m., girls and boys will release colourful balloons with special memories and experiences from their daycare centre into the air.
Around 250 guests are expected to attend the anniversary celebration, including representatives from the Office for Youth and Family and other daycare centres in Chemnitz, cooperation and network partners of the daycare centre and, last but not least, alumni - employees as well as children and parents from the early years of the daycare centre.
The second highlight of the anniversary celebrations is an open day at the "Pfiffikus" daycare centre on Thursday, 9 October from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.: The invitation to the daycare centre includes insights into the daycare centre and the everyday life of the children and the daycare team led by director Heike Mattis.
