Peter Börner elected head of the Parks Department

Yesterday, the city council unanimously elected Peter Börner as the new head of the Parks Department in a closed meeting.

Peter Börner, born in 1971, is a landscape architect. He studied at the Humboldt University of Berlin, the TU Dresden and the Grande Ecole d`Architecture de Bordeaux-Talence.

After working as a freelance landscape architect, he joined the City of Chemnitz in 1997. From 1997 to 2002, he was project manager for open space planning projects, particularly in the city centre. From 2002, he was head of the green planning department at the green spaces office. He has been in charge of the Green Space Office since November 2012.

Peter Börner is a member of the Chamber of Architects and the German Society for Garden Art and Regional Culture, of which he was the regional director for Saxony from 1999 to 2012.
