Perspective of urban development on the northern Sonnenberg
Citizens are invited to a final public forum with an open discussion on the prospects for urban development in the northern Sonnenberg district of Chemnitz on Wednesday, 23 July from 5:30 pm in the Philippstraße 20 school building. The citizens' forum in the Sonnenberg district is being organised by the City of Chemnitz building department together with the planning company urban management systems GmbH from Leipzig.
Building Mayor Petra Wesseler will open the citizens' forum at 6 p.m. and will also moderate the "Sonnenberg Debate" panel discussion in the event programme.
Jens Gerhardt, project manager from urban management systems GmbH, and Thomas Mehlhorn from the urban planning office will present the framework plan as a result of the participation process. With keynote speeches by Lars Faßmann, board member of Kreatives Chemnitz, Frank Rothe, AJZ Mobile Jugendarbeit Mitte, and Heiko Liebert, Liebert GmbH and owner, the project proposals will be reflected on from different perspectives.
The "Sonnenberg Debate" - an open discussion round with the residents of the neighbourhood - will conclude the citizens' forum and will be attended by the initiators, neighbourhood manager Elke Koch and representatives of the City of Chemnitz.
