Pedestrian bridges re-examined before demolition: Erfenschlager Bridge remains until an alternative is finalised - Einsiedeln Bridge must be demolished
The demolition of the two flood-damaged pedestrian bridges in Einsiedel (behind Einsiedel town hall) and Erfenschlag (near Einsiedler Waldweg) has been re-examined.
The result after the renewed on-site inspections by the Chemnitz civil engineering office: the bridge in Einsiedel must be demolished within the next two weeks as planned. The local council was informed of this on Wednesday evening.
The bridge in Erfenschlag will not be demolished until later. This demolition will only take place once an alternative has been realised on the opposite bank.
It is planned that a solution will be found by autumn. In the meantime, the bridge will be reopened to pedestrians from the weekend after makeshift repairs, which were carried out this Friday.
