Pedestrian bridge Einsiedler Waldweg in Erfenschlag completed

The new Einsiedler Waldweg pedestrian bridge over the Zwönitz in Erfenschlag has been completed. The construction work began in August 2016 and was accepted today. The designated hiking trail can now be used again.

The new bridge is a steel truss structure with the supporting structure integrated into the railing area. This allows for a very slender design. As a result, a larger drainage profile has been created to prevent further damage from future floods.

The old bridge was severely damaged in the 2013 floods and had to be replaced.

The total costs amount to 258,000 euros. The federal government and the Free State of Saxony are supporting this with eligible funding totalling 207,000 euros from the 2013 reconstruction aid fund (based on the Joint Directive of the Saxon State Ministries on the Granting of Aid for the Elimination of Flood Damage in 2013).
